Samsung Galaxy Note is something that is quite an interesting product. Now that they’ve got the 10’1″ size of the product it’s even more interesting what you can do with the tablet with an S-Pen. But we are not looking into the features of the tablet here. We’re going to look at the price comparison for each Telco’s offering of the product.
First, let’s parade all their ads online.
Quite an interesting week that it was last week when all the major telco launched the promo for Galaxy Note 10.1. We’re trying our best to consolidate and compare among the 4 and hopefully this will help you to make your decisions
Firstly, let’s look from the perspective of lowest device price
Digi is a clear winner here with the lowest device price of RM 1,299. However, comparing total upfront cost with the others, Maxis looks very attractive with only RM1,499 to own the device. Also to take note that they are only offering the device without any additional upfront payment to their Maxis One Club Member only. You might want to check if you are eligible for it.
If you noticed in our comparison above, we included 2 columns for UMobile. The last column itself is their mobile broadband package with the device. In fact we thought mobile broadband will be a better match with this device instead of voice-data plan. Only UMobile came out with this plan in their offering.
Next, if you are looking for lowest monthly commitment and lowest device price, check out the next comparison chart.
Celcom and Digi are the Telcos with the lowest monthly commitment of RM48 per month. Maxis comes pretty close with the RM50 Internet Value Plan per month. But in combination with the device cost and upfront cost, looks like Maxis is a better choice. However, just to take note, they will charge for additional usage data charges if you exceeded your monthly limit of 1.5GB which may increase your monthly cost. Where as, the other Telcos will only throttle the connection speed and do not impose additional charges after you exceed your quoata. Something worth noting here.
So that’s it. You decide which is the best plan for you. We are not paid to do this or are we bias to any Telco on this comparison.
So click on the banner for each of the Telco above to go to their website for more details. Have fun with Note 10.1!
* All the comparison data are valid at the time of writing. Please refer to the Telco’s website for further details
So it seems that the Merdeka Day promotion under Celcom is still running.
Unless of course their website is sloppy and hasn’t been updated then someone needs to be shot and perhaps run into the ground with a bulldozer or an angry bird or something.
You can get the brand new Samsung Galaxy S3 for RM1898 with zero monthly commitments. And from our knowledge, general pricing seems to be actually at RM1999 if you head over to Digital Mall or even Lowyat. If you’re good at negotiating though, who knows. And yes, we’re talking about original products, not the AP prices.
